iParticipate
A transnational project focusing on migrant integration into their host countries.
The iParticipate project promotes the political, civic and social participation of migrants at a local level, as well as their role as partners in the decision-making process on integration policies. It also champions education programmes on the active citizenship of migrants addressed to borough-level decision makers. The 18-month long programme finishes in June 2015. iParticipate is targeted at Third Country nationals (non-European Union), aged 18 years and above. The EU partners include Germany, Greece, Italy (Project Lead) Portugal, Spain and the United Kingdom.
The project will
deliver Educational Modules (called iParticipate College) to local citizens,
with a particular focus on young people, an Education Seminar for local voluntary
& community groups, a Training Workshop for strategic actors within the
borough and the iParticipate Conference focusing on the media and its
relationship with migrant communities. Local partners include London
Tigers, Acton Community Forum, Somali Advice & Development Centre, Ealing
Community & Voluntary Service and the Anti-Tribalism Movement.
